New Software Changes - March 20, 2008
OK, I noticed new changes out on Marriott.com and I resisted referring to them as Software Downgrades in this threads title. Time will tell.
MR number is preloaded in Marriott Rewards Number field with asterisks and last 3 numbers showing (when not signed in) - I like it. Once signed in the whole MR number is shown.
New inline drop down calendars that work. The old separate windowed calendars stopped working a couple weeks back. Bad thing about new calendars is if you want to book a few months down the road, then there is no shortcut to select the month. However, you can put a date in the date field for the month you want and the floating inline calendar will show that month. Another nice feature is that if the check-out date is empty or earlier than the check-in date then it will automatically load it with the day after the check-in date. If the check-out date is later than the check-in date then it will retain check-out date you had entered even if the check-in date is changed.
As best I can tell at quick glance that is all the changes I noticed. If others notice changes, please share them with us. As most of you are aware I stay pretty alert with regard to postings here on the MR forum and did not see a thread discussing this, so if there has been one, my apologies and Mod is free to merge and/or close this thread.

I noticed the in page calendar last night when making a res. Works pretty well compared to the old pop up calendar.

so just to summarize,
code migration you like = "changes"
code migration you don't like = "DOWNGRADE"
Is there such a thing as an upgrade or improvement?

I think that most of what aaupgrade complains about is code that simply does not work properly.

Another tricky change: Certificates not linked to any reservation vanish from your account when they come due after a year. If you don't remember them, you'll probably lose them.

Minor note: Previously, if you did not log-in first, the system wouldn't recognize your platinum status for the purposes of availability overrides on sold out properties. Now, it does so whether you have logged in with a password or not.
Just something to be aware of if you're checking for regular room availability for someone else.

Not sure if anyone else had this problem, but this explains why, for the past few days, I've been getting a "session timed out" message... even as I was trying to sign in. Regardless, if you happen to come across this, after I deleted my Marriott cookies, it worked fine.
