I used to be pretty good at LNF...this summer is not working out very well though! Am I just looking too early?

The way to figure that out is to play with dates closer in, and see if you get better results for the same properties on the same days of the week (in terms of rates that look LNFable; obviously since you don't want those earlier dates, you wouldn't actually try to LNF them).

Also, keep in mind that some sites that used to have LNFable rates 24/7 a year ago now only have LNFable rates overnight plus on the weekends (ie, outside of "business" hours). So make sure you're checking on Friday night or Saturday (if you're checking real dates) as only early in the weekend can you sumbit an LNF for such a site and be sure that the 24 hour claim response window will end before the rate goes away early Monday morning.

Good advice....though I am typically already doing my LNF shopping on the weekends. ^

This is probably a tough one, I'm looking at the Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel from July 9th to July 13th. I have a AAA rate of 360 Euros a night. It wouldn't be so bad but I need 3 rooms since I'm traveling with the extended family. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I submitted a claim for the Marco Island Marriott and received the following denial.

Hotel name: Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa
Reservation confirmation number: 81958455
Check-in date: July 02, 2014

According to the Terms and Conditions of Marriott's Look No Further(SM) Best Rate Guarantee, the guarantee does not apply to pre-paid rates that involve a voucher (including electronic vouchers) for a hotel stay outside of the United States and Canada. According to our review, we have determined that a travel voucher will be issued for the accommodations with which your comparison was made. Please refer to the following web address and additional details regarding this procedure:

For this reason, we must deny your claim under the terms of Marriott's Look No Further(SM) Best Rate Guarantee program.

Last time I checked Florida is still part of the US - did I miss something?

It's happened before. See here for more (including a case where Marriott LNF thought San Francisco was not part of the US either!):

You have to tell us what rate you're trying to beat, and preferably which specific property or properties for each rate.

And be aware that that far out, some third-party sites may not yet have discount rates loaded.

Oops, sorry. I posted previously on this thread but no responses.

Dec 1-2 in Hong Kong.
JW Marriott or Renaissance Harbour View.

The Ren is 2300HKD/night for refundable, 2640HKD for Bed + Breakfast.
JW is 3900HKD for refundable, 4300HKD for Bed + Breakfast.

Any help beating these rates would be much appreciated. It is a bit far out so rates might not have been loaded. I will keep an eye out for new discount rates to be loaded as time passes.

Email them back, and they will sort it out. I just had the same response for Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa (in San Diego). Maybe it's the Island part that throws them off... :)

I usually reply with this exact statement, embedded in some kind words, however, and get the claim accepted within a few hours...happens once in a while, especially if you are frequently requesting the guarantee and usually do so for out-of-US/CA properties.
