Clean Glasses?

Maybe this is old news, but I just saw the video on the Net about how hotels "clean" the glasses in the room (this appeared to be in Colorado and did not feature Marriotts). Pretty disgusting and makes you wonder if they all do the same.

My personal feeling is that any glasses at all at FI would be welcome....or at least clear flexible plastic to replace those gross styrofoam things (which are fine for coffee...lousy for cold drinks IMHO)

I've seen this hitting other forums in the last week (non-travel related).

It's on ebaumsworld now.

I'm fine with individually wrapped plastic cups. As mentioned in the other thread, I can't remember ever seeing a rack of clean glasses in the hallway while house keeping is cleaning the rooms

I am currently at The Renaissance Toronto Airport, I personally saw all mugs and cups placed in an empty dish washing tray and replaced with clean ones ^

The FI (&S) I stay at regularly in Manchester, CT provides both clear plastic and styrofoam cups, sealed in plastic bags.

This used to be S.O.P., and I still see that here and there. But in most FI locations, someone apparently decided that costs could be cut (even as room rates were being raised) by having flimsy styrofoam cups do double-duty as cold and hot beverage containers.

C'mon! I don't mind not having actual glassware, but even the Scrooge airline industry gives you some type of clear plastic container for the cold drinks.
