courtyard stapleton or residence inn

Taking a quick trip to Denver for a one day meeting on monday. Course company suggested staying at the Courtyard Stapleton as it is close to company. Do I want to spend time there as I am bringing my wife who will on monday just read and swim. Is the Residence Inn a better choice? I am trying to be somewhat frugal before the holidays. Any suggestions for restaurants etc or something to do on sunday rather than sit around the hotel? Any scenic drives nearby? Thanks

I am currently staying at the CY Stapleton. As CYs go, its a better one. Fully updated and new furnishings in the rooms. Its quiet and lightly booked on weekends. The indoor pool and hot tub areas are clean and well stocked with towels.

I like it because of the quiet and easy access to my construction site a few blocks away.

That said, it's not in the best part of town although its getting better with Northfield across the freeway bringing the area up. But it is surrounded by industrial type businesses. The RH across the street is also a very nice FS Marriott.

The closest RI is out in Westminster or Downtown, or DIA Airport.

The upper elevations finally got a large snow storm last night but Denver got nothing.
