RI Taking extra points from me?
I have a rare opportunity to use my MR points at a RI Marlbough MA due to some hockey games my son is playing in this weekend. Several months ago, I reserved 2 studio rooms at 29,000 pts each and didn't pre-order a certificate.
I just got a reservation reminder email and checked my account and it looks like I have 2 x 2BR's waiting for me. Also, an extra 20,000 has been deducted for room upgrades. I'm PLT and thinking maybe that they gave me an upgrade (but then "charged" for it?).
While I don't mind the extra space, its really not needed being a boy and myself (and another father/boy). The hotel is now sold out most likely from the hockey games although there is plenty of non Marriott rooms available nearby for $104/night.
What to do, who would be the best person to speak with? Hate to burn through so many points 78,000 for rooms I could replace for less than $500.

Call the platinum reservation line and tell them that you want two studio rooms paid with points. They should have a record of your original reservation and be able to change it back. I doubt that they will give you a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom since RIs have few such rooms.
