Call the hotel directly & ask. It will cost you a few pennies, but if they agree you should be set. If you're willing to take a chance on the dif in price, then don't bother.
Just in case the reg rate goes up, make a 2nd reservation at that rate now to have as back-up if by chance you tried for the wedding & obscurely they said no & the reg price went up in the interim. As long as you're there before the cancel time, you're ok on both ressies.
But my guess is you'll be fine on the discounted. Cheers.
