Newark / Freemont CA
I'm heading to Silicon Valley on business and it looks like I may wind up in the Residence Inn on Dumbarton in Newark, CA.
Two questions - is this in a safe area and what kind of traffic should I expect heading across the 84 bridge
Thanks

Agent is telling me there is a Residence Inn on Farwell in Freemont that might work too.
All thoughts welcome ;-)

I think the RI is in a decent enough area, and the traffic on the 84 is like most other California or Bay Area roads....it can get dicey from time to time....especially during rush hour. But I don't recall it as being excessively horrible.
I've stayed at the CY in Newark/Freemont. They used to have a great LPR rate that anyone could qualify for. I think this has been gone for quite some time, however.
Okay place, newer property. My problem was that the last guy (or perhaps a houskeeper) left a shirt on a hanger in the closet. That wouldn't have been so bad, but apparently the owner of the shirt didn't believe in baths, showers, or similar trivialities. Stunk up the whole room!
I changed rooms, got an apology, and it was fine. The hotel is in sort of a boring area...not many restaurants etc. in the immediate vacinity....but reasonably handy to the 880 freeway.

Thanks for the input, it looks like I'll know in the next few weeks if it's in the cards

We had a great stay at the Newark/Fremont Courtyard in APril, visiting family in the area for a week.
Sorry, don't know about the RI.
