Odd Refrigarator in Room
Stayed at the Tampa Waterside Marriott last week.
Requested a refrigerator as part of the "Virtual Concierge" service (that works less than 50% in my opinion).
Don't think it came but found "something" under the TV furniture.
A small safe on top of a glass case.
Inside the case was a sign stating "this is not a mini bar NOR a refrigerator but is designed to maintain a constant 50 degree temperature". There were no apparent temperature controls.
Anybody else ever see this? More importantly, why not a normal refrigerator? It took a day to bring down some room temperature CL water bottles down to a chill.
Thanks.

Maybe special for meds? My boss has a mini fridge for his diabitis meds, but it has a special sticker on it, as we aren't allowed "personal" fridges.

It used to be a minibar...
I've seen several properties do this with old minibars.
Most put the signs on it out of liability (milk, etc.)
