Reservation Extension
Quick Question!
I have a reservation for a Marriott property tomorrow night I need to extend the stay one additional night. The hotel is showing booked up for Friday night - so my question is how should I go about trying to get the reservation extended. Ask when I check in, what till friday morning or other?
Thanks!

It's better to ask when you check-in. They should be able to extend your reservation then.
Also, as this isn't really Hotel Deals related, I'm moving this to the Marriott forum.
Thanks!

from my experience depending on your status, they should be able to extend.

Thanks for the info - I guess I wasn't paying attention when I posted and put it in the wrong listing - thanks for the move.

You need to deal with the hotel directly. I might call ahead (like now)... and check again when you check-in, just in case there's a cancellation.
Depending on status, most hotels will try and work with you. I think there's only been one or two occasions in 20 years where I couldn't extend a reservation when it was necessary. Sometimes the rates have changed a bit, though.

Definitely check with the hotel front desk staff. Just a couple of weeks ago during Spring Break, I was with the family at the Crystal Gateway Marriott (Wash. DC). We were supposed to fly out on Saturday morning, but a storm came through Friday night and cancelled numerous flights. We were stuck until Monday afternoon in DC and the hotel was listed as sold out. Even though I am only Gold, the hotel not only extended my stay through Monday, they let me keep the same very low rate. ^
On the flight home, I talked with a Hilton Diamond member who was in the same boat with his family but at the Hilton across the street. They would only let him stay if he paid three times his current rate. (He decided to move a couple of miles away from DCA instead.
