Adults Only Pool?
Good Morning All...
I was wondering if anyone has visited a Marriott which has a seperate Adults only pool. I remember the Sawgrass Marriott had one years ago.
Thanks!

I would love this as well. The Renny Philly airport pool got overrun by 10-year olds (loud ones at that) when we were there last.

I second this there have been many times after work or checking out a town I have tried to rest in the spa but get interupted usualy 10 minets later by a family with several loud kids. But hey it is a family friendly hotel.

I don't want to single out Marriott-flagged properties because they're far from being the only culprits, but it's customary, particularly in non-resort properties for two signs to be posted;
1. "No Life Guard on Duty"
2. A list of rules pertaining to rules that must be observed at the pool.
Due to the lack of a supervisory presence (as advised by sign #1), there's no enforcement of the rules posted on sign #2.
BTW, less than civil behavior at hotel pools is not limited to kids (and it's not all kids), particularly in cases I've witnessed wherein those "misbehaving" and annoying other guests are simply following the example demonstrated by their parents (or by the absence of their parents.).

I have never been irritated by children at a pool as much as I have by adults talking business on their cell phones loudly around the pool. The kids I can tune out, the adults I can't.

Marco Island Marriott Resort
The Marco Island Marriott Resort has two pools. One is distinctly "kid-friendly" with water toy features and zero-entry area as well as a nearby wading pool. The other is more adult-friendly (min 3ft-or-so deep, no play area, etc.). However neither was designated as family-only or adults-only, it just naturally occurred that way.
I thought this was a pleasant way of handling a potentially touchy situation - make the kids WANT to go the pool by making it more appealing to them and vice-versa without imposing rules to accomplish it.

The Ren Aruba has a private island (search Aruba for reviews) that has a family side and an adult side.
Overall, my biggest pet peave with some properties (like CUN) is the parents who let their little kids "swim" in the hot tub.
