Elite Override
I am staying at the Downtown Orlando Marriott. I had an appointment change from today to Thursday so I asked to stay an additional night. I had one associate tell me that they were sold out, but to hold on, then got a supervisor who overrode it and was able to extend my stay. ^
Thanks for making me feel special

Another reminder....as if I needed one....of why Marriott is my preferred hotel vendor.
Back in December, at the FI Airport SJC, they were indeed totally full. No override possible. I screwed up my reservation, so it was 100% my fault that I showed up "reservationless" at 8:30pm at a sold out hotel. All other Marriott properties in the area were likewise sold out.
So....what they did was take it upon themselves to keep make a string of phone calls without my having to ask....to eventually find me a room in another nearby hotel.
Then there was the time last year when I showed up with a B1G1 cert at the Chicago downtown Marriott....only to discover that the cert had expired a week earlier. Front desk clerk goes in the back presumably to chat with a manager. Then returns to inform me that the hotel will honor the expired cert anyway.
Indeed....Thanks, Marriott!
