Hamburg Marriott
Didn't see any other reviews on this property, so thought I'd post one...
Stayed several times at the Marriott Hamburg, which is in the midst of the city center and has a fantastic location. Easy to walk from the hotel to most sites in the center of the city, or a short cab ride away.
Train station is even walkable if you don't have bags to carry (and if the weather is nice) -- about 10 blocks away.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, service is top-notch, and the hotel overall I'd highly recommend.
The lounge on the 5th floor is well-stocked and open late. Didn't see a lot of activity there in my stays, but perhaps it was the hours that I visited.
Competes for me (in terms of quality) with Le Meridian in Hamburg, but beyond the view of the lake (which Le Meridian has) the Marriott has a better location.

Yes, we had a similar experience there a few days ago. Staff was fantastic and at our service. A Platinum amenity card was given upon our arrival. Our room smelled like someone had smoked in it, and since there were no other rooms available, they put us in a suite. Someone was sent to our room to escort us to the new room.
The executive lounge was pleasant, although no hot offerings for breakfast: assortment of fruit, cold meats, cheeses, breads and pastries, also yoghurts, cereals and hard-boiled eggs.
We took the S1 train from the airport and got off at the Jungfersteig stop, which was less than a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel. Very manageable even with rollaboard luggage.
