Yes, for this promo. Otherwise, go through another shopping portal and buy through giftcertificates.com.

Aly-exactly as Cactuspete responded.During this promo at Marriott.com buy the points there.
After it is over if you want to buy some Marriott gift certificates than pick your shopping portal(I usually use the Marriott mall-but if you have an ailrline programyou are trying to beef up points on )and buy them via giftcertificates.com

ok, so for this purchase i will go through marriott.com, BUT whats the method to purchase via giftcertificates (i can credit CO or NWA)?

Forgive my ignorance but is there a site called Marriott Mall or are u referring to their .com site..? (ddnt find M.Mall on google.)

Does this mean; QUOTE

Each AirIncentives Mileage Code valued at $50 can be exchanged for 1,550 airline miles.
Each AirIncentives Mileage Code valued at $100 can be exchanged for 3,100 airline miles. UNQUOTE

that evry 100$ GC allows us to get 3100 NWA miles..? too easy...?!!

As other posters have noted, this does not seem to be correct. See below Q&A from the marriott.com site:

Q. Do Marriott Rewards or Marriott Miles members receive points or miles for Marriott Gift Certificate purchases?

A. Points and miles are awarded to the card holder upon redemption of Marriott GiftCards. Points can also be earned if the GiftCards and Dinner for Two certificate is purchased using a Marriott Visa card. Marriott Miles and Marriott Rewards points are not awarded upon redemption of Dinner for Two certificates. Rewards points can be earned if Dinner For Two Gift Certificates are purchased with a Marriott Rewards Visa Card.

If you look on the side bar of the Marriott.com page you will see something saying"shop the Marriott mall"or something to that effect. On the NWA site it is in the world perks drop down menu.If you go through the portal on both sites giftcertificates.com is listed as a vendor in the "mall"You then enter the vendors site using the link in the mall page.
I am going to recomend a wonderful site run by a great Flyer Talker Pgary
http://www.freefrequentflyermiles.com/index.htm
His "buying stuff "section will give you all the help you need.
Good luck-I have acumulated over 300,000 miles by buying things I would shop for anyway via these portals.

No.

Enter gc.com through one of the airline shopping portals. E.g. NWA's mall. Buy your Marriott GCs and earn NW miles. However, there is no benefit of doing this (unless there is some special promo through, e.g., NWA Mall) - - b/c if you wanted to maximize Marriott points then you shuld just get a Marriott Premier credit card and pay for your stays. The Marriott GC promo which is the topic of this thread is a special limited-time offer.

The "AirIncentives Mileage" option that you note is simply buying miles - - 3100 miles for $100.

Welcome to FT.

You're dead wrong; these things are not new and it is hard to believe any CSR who has been around for more than one day would get it wrong.

T&C Link?

Can someone please provide a link to the T&C noted above that indicates that gift cards can be redeemed. I've looked on the Marriott site but am unable to find it. By the way, thanks everyone for your feedback related to my earlier postings.

I am not saying Millineum Flyer is wrong-rather that he got misimformation from a Marriott CSR(nothing new about that)and he posted that misinformation here and won't let go of it.

I have bought and used paper and plastic gift certs / cards over the years and never, ever, ever once failed to get the points from the stay when paying with those. I speak from numerous personal experiences.

This is really, really cool! Thanks Counsellor for finding this. I'm now just about ordering giftcards worth $2,100. :D

Add elite bonus of 20%, 25%, or 30%, e.g., Platinum = 300 points

Total = 3,000 points for the $100 purchase, or 30 points per dollar!

Have we determined if this scenario is correct in that using the MR Premier VISA card will earn 5 points per dollar?

No one answered my last question, so I'll ask another. If anyone has received their gift cards yet, how long did it take to get them?
