I called the reward line and got Debra, a helpful representative. She asked for the date of the card order and the order number, and she told me that it will take about 1-2 weeks for the points to be credited to my account. This delay is a result of her having to make a manual request for the points and waiting for it to go through the company.
Points posted sometime during the week of Feb 25-Mar 4 when I was incommunicado, they were there then when I returned. |

Well yesterday I saw my acct had an extra 12,504 pts which meant I got credit for 1 of the 2 $1042 GCs I purchased (to max out the 25k). Called back today and this CSR took the info and asked that I hang-on as he calls the Supervisor that took care of it. Yep, that did it the supervisor forgot to make it 2x since there was 2 GCs. Now all is in order, a bit of hassle, but Well worth it for the 35k+ in pts |
I called, they didn't have my rewards number on the order
Called the 801-468-4167 number today, gave them the order number off of the confirmation email that I got when I ordered. They couldn't find that number (!), but were able to look it up from my name.
Then, she said that she couldn't find my MR number in the order (!!), even though I know I put it in (and double checked) at the time of the order. However, she took my MR number and added it, saying that she would put through the points. We'll see in a few days... She also mentioned that if you had ordered online, the points should have posted by now, because they had put those all through in the past few days. |

I ordered online in early December. My MR number is on the order. Still no points.
MR number included... No points yet... E-mail inquiry on Monday yielded the "we'll check into it, check account again in 7-10 days" response... |
I'm amazed at the inefficiency of this program in getting proper credits. It just doesn't seem like Marriott to make you fight to get the points as promised, and for it to take so long. I made at least 4 calls to get my orders straight and the left hand didn't seem to know what the right hand was doing. Finally, I found someone at Marriott Rewards, not the Card people, to straighten it out for me.

What a royal pain in the butt...or is this something short of bait and switch? Make a great offer, but don't deliver on it unless the buyer notices something is missing...very poor job Marriott...very poor job.

Absolutely unacceptable...
I bought my cards in November and haven't received my points...so I finally called the (801) number today for Marriott Gift Cards department...a NON toll free number I might add. I was told after providing my order number that "I see your order but am not sure why the points haven't been added." Well, thanks. She put me on hold and said "You're in the spreadsheet to have your points added...I just don't know when it will happen." She also indicated there was a mass adding of points for some members on February 2nd...A MONTH AGO? No updates since then? She then said "You should expect your points in a week or two." Now all of a sudden she has a time frame she just pulled out of thin air.
I find this pretty much unacceptable. You tell me points will post within 6 weeks of a promotion ending...they don't. You call customer service (long distance) and can't get anything but the run-around?? ChazDawg |
After one encounter with the CS of the reward card to inquire about my card's balance, I decided to stick with the Platinum line for any issues regarding the points promotion. The service was not bad, but I could tell that the Platinum line would have more resources and flexibility to help me fix any problems.
ChazDawg, you should call the Platinum Premier line. They should be able to help you since this is a promotion involving Marriott Rewards. |

Very disappointing... 3/2/07 Update: Points finally arrived in account after another e-mail ping... Shouldn't have been that difficult, but resolution achieved. |
I have been corresponding with customer service via email. They are starting the run around process of wanting dates, numbers, amounts, type of card purchased and so on.
This is very disappointing service from Marriott. It's not bait and switch, but close. Do a promo, make some sales and then only deliver the goods if the customer remembers to ask you about it. Such a joke...lousy service Marriott...very lousy. |
Got my points last week, about a week after I complained to Marriott.

Did not get my points either. Called the gift card phone number and they dumped the problem on Marriott rewards. Talked to Mr. Sione at 1-800-450-4442. He noted information on my order # and Marriott account # and the points are there in my account in about 3-4 days.

"Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards.
I am sorry that you have not yet received your points for participating in our Gift Certificate Promotion. These bonus points should appear in your online account within the next 24-72 hours. Thank you for your enduring patience regarding this matter. Regards, Ryan Daley Internet & Correspondence Specialist Marriott Rewards" |
