New search feature, yet another flaw or operator error?
So ... I book about 100 nights a year on Marriott.com and usually end up staying between 50-75(because of the nature of my business, I often need reservations to cover multiple areas on the same dates, hence more reservations than stays in many cases).
I considered myself an expert in the old search engine.
So now I'm trying to book a stay using the VIP code, which I'm entitled to. Usually, I try one date and, if it's not available, use the option to search for other dates when this rate would be available.
Now, I don't get that option.
It just tells me that rate is not available for the date requested.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this thing just the piece of dumbed-down junk it appears to be?

I noticed that if a rate is available at another location but not at your location, it will place the check other alternate dates link on the screen. I also have noticed that it will put that on the screen sometimes if there are mulitiple properties and the rate is available on the date you select. However, if that is the only property with that rate and it is not available then you are out of luck. It is very fustrating even more so if you are looking at a one property town.
