Interesting theory and some good points. Still, given the upward trends in rates, it would be nice if they could do something about this....at least for elites. To me this might seem to be a good use of the funds they'll save on no longer having to service smoking rooms.

And yes, bring on a free breakfast option for elites at CY....even if only limited menu/service.

When I started staying there, the free b'fast was contineltal, and there was a couple bucks charge to upgrade to a full hot breakfast. They've since changed that to hot brekkies for free. It's very nice -- eggs/omlets to order, table service, etc.

bassmanben is correct -- I chose the points over the b'fast, and I usually just grab coffee/bagel to eat in the car. But, since I'm there a lot, sometime they throw in chit "just because".

I remember my first stay at a Courtyard. Confidently waving my Platinum card, I was told, sorry, no comps. IIRC, I got an egg mcmuffin down the road and was on my way.

Just remember you receive credit on all non-wholesaler rates at courtyards regardless of how booked, not true with Hilton brands
