So I book a property at our corporate rate for an upcoming conference. Then my colleague from Japan decides to join, and I book his room also on the website while logged in under my account, but change the guest name to his.
Then today I see two reservations under my account, one in 4 June out 9 June and one in 5 June out 10 June, figure the second one is an error and cancel it. Ooops - just canceled my coworkers res and now the rates have gone up $100 a nite. He will go apesh!t when I tell him he has to turn in an expense report showing the higher rate, he was already worried about the cost of the trip and had a hard time justifying it to his manager.
Immediately called the plat line and while she couldn't reinstate a canceled res, she called the front desk manager at the property and he reinstated at the old rate. Thank you Marriott Plat Line and Marriott SFO 4th and Market.
They could have taken a hard line and said I had to rebook at the new rate and to think next time before I clicked the mouse. But they didn't and that makes me a very happy (and loyal) customer.
