Help needed with a Plat changing a Promo

Ok I was assigned a Mega Bonus that was 15 nights = 25k, since I already had 29 nights booked for the promo period , I called and had them switch it to 20 for 35k. No problem but was told the credit will have to be done manually.

Well today I see that I got Mega Bonus of 25k but that the pts for my last stay were more then they should have been.

Is this how MR does it they credit you for whatever it was that you were assigned and then make up the difference on a Stay Crediting, which BTW was slightly less then the extra 10K that I should have gotten,( 35k instead of 25k), 1st time as a plat that I changed the promo so I dont know how they handle these things.

I'm not a Plat anymore and haven't had the need/opportunity to change the Promo assigned to me. From the posts I have read here in the past, it seems most were actually getting their Promo's changed. I haven't heard anyone talk about the need for a manual entry here.

What I would do is call the Rewards Help Desk and see if you can find out the exact breakout of those "extra" points you received from your last stay. I'm wondering if they aren't from something else. It sounds to me as if you were never changed to the 35K promo. And if that is the case, you may have to fall to the mercy of the Help Desk on getting your extra 10K.

I changed my promo last year as a Plat but the points showed for the old promo. They then manually added the extra points in my account when I called them and told them I completed the new promotion they had changed me to. It sounds like they somehow automated this process to add with the last qualifying stay that took you over the top.

I also changed promos. The points were manually adjusted but done separate not combined with my last stay. That is totally separate. In my case, the agent just adjusted the Mega Bonus amount from 5K to 35K. This was reflected the next day on my account. Maybe you should follow up with MR to ensure that indeed the credit adjustment was actioned.

Well, it looks like I stand corrected. It seems they have indeed "manually" added the extra points from a promo change.

The thing that confuses me is that the OP stated that there were extra points added to the last stay. I would still do as suggested and call the help desk to see where all the points from the last stay came from and try to get the extra 10K from the promo added.

You could also be correct, honestly it really all depends on how the agent wants to fix the problem. I have had stays where I was short credited and each time I called, the credit was posted differently from the last. One time they adjusted my account by adding the points separately as a GOODWILL adjustment another time they created a separate stay with the same dates at the same hotel but with the point difference as credit. At the end of the day, I don't care how they post the points as long as they give me all my points

thanks just got off with MR, and they will look into it. She did look thru the notes and found where I did ask and they did make a note of the Switch to 20 for 35k from 15 for 25k.

again at the time of the call I alreaday had 24 nights Booked, so why not grab the extra 10k.

thanks everyone
