Good Best Rate Guarantee experience
I just did the best rate guarantee for the first time this morning. Saw a $209 rate for a Residence Inn in Atlanta that was way beat by $109 on Travelhero. No way I would have paid $209 a night for an RI but the $109 was a good rate. Even better is the $81.75 they changed it to in about an hour after I sent my claim form in to Marriott!
Don't expect to find these too often but it's nice to stumble upon a great deal.

I wonder what happens if you use BRG guarantee too often. Would that be considered abusing the system? Anybody using it regularly?
Not that it's easy to find lower rates... I've tried a couple of times, but everyone has the same or higher prices. Once found a lower rate, but got declined because of something regarding electronic vouchers (?).

Best Websites for Marriott BRG?
I could not find any cheaper Marriott hotels. Are there some "good" websites for Marriotts?

Have had 2 good experiences with Marriott's Best Rate Guarantee within the last month. It doesn't happen often but its good when it does and Marriott does it right.

Marriott BRG: Which sites work?
That's nice to hear and welcome to FT Mr Meanie65
To come back to my initial question: Are there some "good" Marriott-BRG-finding-websites?
And another question: Does Marriott compare total price with total price or is the comparison to be made with the "room-only-cost"?

yes there are web sites out there however you'll need to forgive me for not sharing them but I was reviewing a few of them yesterday as a matter of fact and most of the hotel listings were for other chains/brands

Twice within the past year, I've managed to find a better rate for a Marriott property than was available on the website. Both were hotels on the West Coast...a full-serve Marriott and a Courtyard.
I didn't attempt to invoke the guarantee. I was just happy to get the better rate (and didn't want to create a "fuss"). Besides, the additional savings involved wasn't that extreme (but still pretty nice), and I still got my points.
I also have to say it didn't take much effort to beat what was showing on the Marriott website.

I'm wondering(well, or trying to get the 25% discount) if Renaissance Congress Center would qualify for using BRG? I suppose it works in hotels in Europe as well?
What is the formal procedure?
Booking the room (with its lowest rate?) thru Marriott
send in the claim form withthe price for the same hotel and room.
wait for them to confirm
edit: what about stays >1 night?
Thanks
