Contact Head Office?
Hi all,
This isn't a major complaint, but I am a bit peeved. I was going to be staying in the Detroit area for a couple of months, and was referred by colleagues to the Hilton Garden Inn for a corporate rate. However, being a Marriott Platinum member, my preference is to stick with a Marriott brand. I called the Marriott Courtyard downtown, and asked for the sales manager, and was directed to their voice mail. I left a message asking if a long term rate was available, my membership number, and a request to call me back. When I didn't hear back in the same week, I called again, and this time left a message with the same information with their assistant, who said they would give the message to the sales manager. This manager still has not called me back.
Is it unreasonable to call the head office to complain? The sales manager doesn't seem to want to return my calls, either to decline my request or even acknowledge it. Or is that particular hotel so busy that a request like mine can be ignored? i.e. suck it up, and book over the web?

Maybe you should ask to speak to the General Manager of that Courtyard first. The sales manager should have had the courtesy to reply back to your inquiry. If you cannot get a response from the General Manager, you should contact Marriott headquarters.
