Silver Status

How does Marriott determine elite status with regards to stays. Do they go by 12 month calender or a rolling 12 month sweep?

I have 58 stays from Feb. 2005 to Feb 2006 and I just received my silver card versus Gold. I was Gold last year and thought I had enough stays to keep my gold status.

It's not a rolling re-qualification...Your re-qualification timeframe is
Jan 1st through December 31st each year.

With the key word being "re-qualification"

Gold status for the last two years, Plat before that. Well, I was just checking on whether or not some points had posted to my account and there it was......... "Silver status" at the top of my account page. I thought status ran until March 1st? :p

Yes. As I understand Chris, once you've been downgraded to Silver (i.e. 1 March?), they'll start doing sweeps every two weeks to see if you have 50 nights in the rolling "twelve months to date" and if so upgrade you to Gold.

At least, that's how I understand it from this thread. Please let us know how it works with you.
