Dolphins & Marriott

I thought I'll forward the question to this forum.

So I was asked which Marriott property (probably resort) is near a beach where dolphins can be seen. (Not in some kind of Sea World but in wild.) White sand and big seashells would be also appreciated, but dolphins was the main request. Lots of them.

Any thoughts?

I don't know about seeing dolphins while physically standing on the shore of a Marriott resort, but dolphins, whales, and even my favorites - monk seals - are all over the place in Kauai. (Well, the seals are very rare, but dolphins and whales are every-freaking-where.) Several dolphin species - spinners and some bigger ones, shoot me for forgetting the name...

Take your pick of the Marriotts there...the animals can be seen by either boat or chopper.

When I stayed at the Marriott Ihilani Resort I took a boat trip and saw lots of dolphins. Couldn't seen any from shore though.

The Bay Point Marriott Resort in Panama City, Florida.

We rented a pontoon boat to tool around the bay and the Dolphins came right up to the boat. We could also see them on occasion from land.

I didn't stay at the Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort in Costa Rica, but I did travel from Montezuma to Jaco (which is close to where the hotel is) via water taxi and we saw dolphins in the ocean along the way. They were following behind the boat and jumping in the wake. Very cool. The boat is a regular taxi service that runs between the two for $30.

Costa Rica also has lots of other cool wildlife to see like monkeys and sloths. Well worth a trip.
