Fast track to gold
I stay in marriotts about 20 nights every year and am a member of other hotel programs eg ichotels too. Is there any way to fast track to Gold status? I fast track to silver with my visa card but never seem to make it to gold. Are there any other visa card type offers anywhere that would help me get to gold with 20-25 stays... just wandering asif i were gold i WOULD choose the marriott more!!

Are you talking about stays or nights?
If it's nights, then I don't see how you can get Gold with only half of a required nights.
And for a novel idea, why don't you stay more at the Marriotts and then get gold after you qualify? I mean, if you like the service and benefits now, I don't see how being a Gold is going to make you enjoy Marriott more...

However, I don't think lounge access is something that would/should sway someone. But that's just me, I stay at a CY 95% of the time so no lounge access anyway

Marriott just fast tracked me to gold status on 26 stays YTD. My profile also says that if I stay an additional 24 nights in the year, they will fast track me to Platinum.
Maybe it also had something to do with the fact that I help my project team book 470 room-nights with them at three hotels?

Like Fermat, I was Silver and just finished a 2 room 13-night stay. They automatically gave me Gold after those 26 nights even though the website had originally said that I would need 50. I didn't sign up for any fast track promotions or request special treatment. I guess they just figure that if you spend 26 nights by early February that there's a good chance you'll be staying with them a lot. Too bad my team has decided to switch from a Marriott to a Hilton.
