In my experience (for the past 4 months) - I've used the B1G1 offer for Marriott on 4 separate occasions without an eyeblink from the front desk.

I used it during weekends when I planned to stay over on a business trip and picked up the tab for my room while using my company travel benefit to fly my partner up over the weekend. (it's either / or with our company).

At any rate - from my experience they don't check - nor do they really seem to care. It's revenue for them.

I've been platinum premier about 3 years and with MR for about 9 (guess I'll hit the lifetime threshold for platinum in another 3 years). Not really sure what the difference is, but I tend to get upgraded to suites a lot if they are available and the staff seems extremely responsive if I call the at your service number. Other than that, I think I get the same thing with respect to gifts and reservations. One of the MR agents told me they select about 7000 PPs each year based on stays and revenue but she would not go into the details. I've done about 150 nights a year for the last 9 years in everything ranging from fairfields to full service.

I've been at Gold Status for about 2 months. So far, I received a Junior Suite upgrade at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, Arlington, VA and experienced free access to the Concierge floor for free breakfast. If the Concierge is not available on weekends for breakfast, will Marriott hotels offer coupons to eat free in their restaurants for breakfast?

Also, as a gold member, does MR issue those coupon booklets for hotel stays (i.e., buy 2 nights, get 1 free, etc.)?

They are not obligated to give you free breakfast on the weekends though I have received it at certain properties.

The coupons would be available to you on Marriott.com just log in and view the gold offers link on the right side after logging in.

I'm currently at the Atlanta Marriott Suites. Upon check in, I received a letter giving me free breakfast for each day of my stay this weekend.

Made Platinum But.....

So I made platinum last week, having stayed a total of 85 nights by my count. When I sign into my account, it says I have stayed 151 nights this year, which is WAY more than I have. Any explanations for this bizarre "glitch." Not that I am complaining.....

They may have looked at rolling months (the last 12 months). This may be a glitch or they could have given you nights meant for someone else. They might correct the error later.

But since you made platinum without the extra nights, don't worry about it. Worse case scenario, keep a record of your stays that represent the 85 nights earned.

When you reach Gold/Plat levels, do they offer or have they ever offered the B1G1 free offer (EEO) for Courtyard or Residence Inn by Marriott hotels?

Thanks Marcell. I'll let everyone know if they "fix" the glitch. Rarely do these things go in favor of the customer.

Assuming you have a record of stays, you can just go into your account activity online and answer your own question.

Silver Elite until when?

I got the VISA card last year around April. My account still shows Silver Elite member. Will this hold true until December31st?
Thanks,
SR

You will be silver elite as long as you hold onto the VISA card.

Also, if you stay at least 10 nights per calendar year, that will also keep you at the Silver Elite level; however if you stay 50 nights per calendar year, you would receive Gold level ,and if you stayed 75 nights per calendar year, you would reach Platinum level.
