I don't know if I'm lucky or boring, but in over 1,000 hotel nights to date I have never walked in on anyone doing the wild thing, found porno mags in the drawers, or gotten someone else's dry cleaning delivered to my room. I probably just jinxed myself--I'll let you know after next weekend's stay in Philadelphia!

A pair of old lady panties in a corner on the floor of my room in the Embassy Suites at DIA, within one week of it's grand opening.

1. A pair of panties and party glitter sprinkled on the sofa at the Renaissance Hollywood hotel on New Year's Day 2002 (one week after hotel grand opening). Evidently the suite hosted quite the party New Year's eve :D

2. A small fold up magnifying glass with a stash of Viagra hidden inside at the Renaissance Oak Brook hotel.

3. A naked man laying on the bed watching TV at a Best Western in Gillette Wyoming. In this case I immediately backed out of the room, proceeded back to the front desk, cut to the front of the check in line and asked "Excuse me, but would it be possible to get a room without a naked man on the bed?"

THAT'S exactly why I take the spread off and throw it in the corner first thing.

The beds had been removed and the room used for a sales display -- they gave me a different room.

I've also had no towels, left over cold coffee, unmade beds, other people's luggage, etc etc.

and I've had maids fill the ice bucket for me on a multi-night stay.

3 bottles of Miller Lite in the fridge last week.

And like the other poster who found beer, I don't drink either.

Luckily this was bottled water and not actual beer, then! ;) (Sorry, couldn't resist the jab at wimpy beer.)

Does finding a SMELL count???

I've already posted about the rank aroma I encountered a few months back at the Newark, CA CY. But there was an object (an "overripe" shirt) that went with it.

This past Thursday, I was at the SHS at Eden Prairie, MN (Minneapolis). Checked into the room/suite....and everything seemed fine. About an hour later, I was sitting on the sleeper sofa and noticed a distinct but VERY obvious odor. Apparently a previous guest had "become ill" in the area.

Since I had already unpacked my things and had my laptop up and running, etc. I did not want to change rooms. I merely moved away from that part of the room, and the smell was no longer noticeable. It was also not noticable from the bed.

At checkout, when the lady at the front desk asked if everything was ok with my stay, I told her about the problem and suggested the room be taken out of service for re-cleaning. She was absolutely mortified. She apologized profusely and offered to credit me with an extra 1,000 MR points.

So far some Ladies Lingere - very sexy. Certain gentlemens magazines and a used pair of socks in the trash can.
