Marriott/AA Promotion

I utilised a promotion last year for 20% extra AA miles when ordering Marriott package awards.

Can anyone advise if such a promotion is run for a period every year, as I would like to order another package but could delay it if neccesary.

FWIW, last year was the only time I have seen that promotion. I would suggest waiting until May as the promotion went through the end of May last year. Also it was an AA promotion, so you may want to search for Marriott 20% or Marriott Bonus on the AA forum to see if it was offered in previous years. If it was, there is sure to have been a post in that forum.

I this is for an award this coming year, either wait and don't have the points taken out for the reward, or if you have a plethora of points you can take the points out and then have a MR CSR replace it with a travel package award later. The later is what I did last year, as I had already planned my award prior to the offer coming out.

Just before that, AA run a similar 20% promotion with Priority Club.
10K PC points generated 3K AA miles instead of the usual and official 2500. There was an alternative conversion ratio but it's gone.

Thanks for the advice. I will do the search and monitor the AA forum.

I have utilized the 20% bonus promotion in each of the last two years. The last one was instrumental in helping me achieve lifetime platinum on AA for 2,000,000 miles, since these miles count just like flight miles in the lifetime total. I seem to remember a 90 day redemption period each year for this promotion, from March 1 through May 31.

I am waiting too for a similiar promotion as I am about 250k away from 2mm on AA. I have just enough Marriott points for a package, but I am holding out for a promotion.

Is the British Airways 50% promotion a yearly event, like the AA promo? While you get sacked with heavy taxes on BA reward redemption, that is a great deal. Anyone know?
