Silver to Gold.. bump up

I am a Silver Elite member and am targeting Gold at least by the end of the year. I have 31 nights as of now and looks like I'll end up at around 48-49 nights by the end of December. I called Customer Service today and requested to be bumped up to Gold considering that I plan to stay at Marriott for the next few months. I was asked to fax a copy of my Priority Club Account Information (where I have Platinum status) and told that the number of nights I have with Priority Club will be considered and a decision would be made.

I know people who have done this before without any problems and gotten bumped up. But I sent in the request this morning and still haven't heard back. So I was getting anxious. Anybody have any suggestions/pointers from previous experiences?

As I mentioned in a previous post with this question, it seems to work better if you have a number of reservations already booked that they can reference. The CSR I spoke to didn't think that they would do it instantly, but after checking with his supervisor they upgraded me to Gold while I was on the phone. ^ I didn't end up having to fax my PC statement at all!

I asked Marriott for a bump from Gold to Platinum, since I've got enough nights booked to make it by the end of the year. They basically quoted their rules back at me, and told me that I'd have to wait until I had the 75 nights.

It was almost enough to make me give up and switch to Hilton (where I'm also Gold) and try for Diamond there.
