How to get Gold elite?
I have read here before but dont know where, so please excuse my ignorance.
I am Gold VIP and almost Diamond at Hilton, but am a lowly Silver Elite at Marriott. The kicker is I use my Wife's point card at Marriott every time I check in. I have only had one front desk person say anything. "Getting the points for your wife huh?" He didnt care.
Here is my question. Is their a way to have Marriott match your status at Hilton? Is this a big problem since it is in my wife's name and Hilton is in mine? Can we have a joint card at Marriott? I have 4 marriott stays coming this week. I usually ask for concierge level or at least access when I check in to Marriott. Sometimes I get it, sometimes not and sometimes I get, "We don't usually do that for Silver members." Sorry for all the questions. I look forward to all the answers. This is a great website.

If you can prove you are or will be a valuable customer they are very open to status matching. Be prepared to prove it or don't bother.

And if you get run over by a truck one day your wife can apply for your points - if you're not married, ole JW grabs em back from your heirs.
