MR points value vs. OnePass points value

Say I have a surplus of Continental OnePass points and my friend has a surplus of Marriott Rewards points. I want to get some free hotel stays from her and she wants to get some free flights from me. What would be a good way to determine the exchange rate for points we spend on each other? Is there a comparator you've seen anywhere? Thx!!

I vote that 1 CO mile = 2 Marriott points.
If your friend doesn't want to trade, CO can be transferred to Amtrak from which U can get certs good for a free night at CERTAIN Marriotts @ 10--15K a night.

Brendan's estimate sounds pretty close. Do some comparitive analysis with the friend.

Say, for example, the she wants to go to BOS, and that the fare is about $500. If you can get her a Standard coach award for 25k, that equates about $0.02/award mile.

Then, you want to go to Hawaii for a week. A week in Hawaii at $250 a night (I'm guessing) would be $1750; an award can be had for 135k; that's about $0.012/award point.

Don't take these numbers at face value; check some examples out for yourself by doing an award search on CO.COM and the same at marriott.com.

Most of all, welcome to FlyerTalk, and have fun playing the game.

I'd suggest a more equitable rate is 3 MR points to 2 CO miles. You have to factor in ease of award conversion. OnePass is relatively difficult and MR is relatively easy. YMMV.
