Walked at a Fairfield Inn

So I went to check in at my usual FI last night (negotiated rate) and they told me they were overbooked, and I was being walked. No problem, especially when they told me it would be of no charge to me. (Is this normal?)

So I scoot down to an AmericInn (never heard of them -- nice place, though).

After I settle down and I'm watching a bit of TV, I hear a knock on the door. I open it, and there's a cop standing there. "Sorry Sir. Not you; the room next door". OK, back to the TV.

About 20 minutes later, another knock. Louder this time. Really sounds like my door.

This time I peer through the peephole. Sure enough, now there two cops, and they're banging louder and shouting "Police!". Hmmm.

One of them has his hand on his gun. Something must have happened, because he pulled his piece. I just went back and dove under the bed.

Well, it was a domestic thing, and after the guy showed up the cops had a talk with him and he went back to his room ... right next to mine.

I was half expecting a gunshot in the middle of the night (that sometimes happens), but fortunately it was quiet the rest of the night.

I checked out this morning, rather quickly. Hopefully, I'll be back to my normal routine next week.

Did make for an interesting night, though.

Wonder if your neighbor got "walked" too....

Great story. Reminded me of my Motel 6 days when on the road drag racing. Ah, memories
