Is Marriott's Web Site Not Functioning Reliably??
Are others have a hard time completing searches/reservations on the Marriott.com web site?
For the past few weeks, I'm having a hell of a time when I search and try to make reservations. Pages hang and nothing happens or I get half way through a transaction and things stall and hang there. It's been an issue for several weeks now, but tonight I'm really having a hard time getting my business done.
Of course it's always possible that good old Win XP and MSIE is the culprit although I've looked at my browser settings etc. But this has been a persistant problem lately and I have never had such constant issues in the past when using Marriott's site.

Seems OK for me
Been in there half-dozen times over the past week booking a couple nights in HKG. No issues for me, other than the prices!!

I have used Marriott.com through my cable ISP, office dial-up, and Marriott Hotels' HS internet without incident over the past few weeks. You may want to check with your ISP to see if they are encountering problems. It also could be an area issue if it is only on certain web sites where you encounter delays. In other words your ISP routes you through specific servers to get you to that destination and encounters issues along the way, whereas, other people like myself in Washington DC get routed through servers that are functioning properly. I assume you are running up to date anti-virus and firewall software and have the latest patches for Windows XP SP 2 installed. If not, you may have a virus and/or could be disadvantaged by older XP software that is not functioning properly. I hope some of this was helpful. Good luck.

Marriott.com is one of most reliable travel sites that I use. Very rarely, I'll catch it down for maintenance late at night on the weekend. Other than that, it's almost bulletproof.

Thanks for the replies.
I agree that Marriott.com has most usually been one of the most reliable and easiest sites to use.
Although I'm firewalled and using SP2, I'm beginning to fear that something is a miss with my XP OS as I'm having a consistently choppy experience with Marriott at the moment. Now the real fun begins as I try to root out what's going on.
