Rennaissance Pittsburgh

Just wanted to give props to this great hotel! I have been very impressed with the service - equal to a five star hotel. Room service was very good and the rooms even have free 256K internet - which I found no difference in speed vs. the usual 1 MB I buy at most Marriotts.

the hotel is an old "classic" propert and has been beautifully renovated - I don't know when they did this but it looks great - the rooms are in very nice- the bed is to die for! The conceirge lounge has a nicer level of snack than I have seen at most Marriott properties.

Nice job guys!

I totally agree. This is a top-notch property. And it's really nice if you get a room facing the river because you get a great view of the new ballpark, which is beautiful.

To anyone who is visiting PIT, I highly recommend this property over the Marriott which isn't even a mile away. Great people. Great rooms (corner ones are HUGE), great people, and great location! And if you happen to be taking in a Bucs game, you just walk right across the bridge to the park.

This property and the Omni William Penn are the 2 best hotels in downtown Pittsburgh! If you need something in the airport area, use the Hyatt. These 3 hotels are head and shoulders above all others I've stayed in in PIT!

This is a great hotel!

Spent four weeks there a couple years back just after it opened. They did a great job on the renovation of the building and did a lot of things right (free-high-speed internet in all the rooms for one). Some of the rooms on the concierge floor had some interesting floorplans due to the courtyard shape of the building. Great location to PNC Park too!

The service is also fantastic. I only stay there 3 - 4 weeks a year -- and more of the staff there know my name then the staff at the Copley in Boston (where I spend 30 - 40 weeks a year).

Thumbs up

Another thumbs up vote. My wife and I use this hotel when we're looking for a quick, local romantic getaway weekend. Great proximity to the theater district and the stadiums. Architecture of the building is interesting. As another poster noted, they did a great job on the restoration/renovation.

Really looking forward to my stay here next month after reading the previous post about this property. Will be in town for the Pirates games, looks like I picked the right hotel.

You definitely picked the right place. As far as downtown hotels go, you can't beat it. the William Penn is nice, but getting a bit worn. Plus, if you are headed to a Pirates game, it just across the bridge. Enjoy, and definitely pop in at the bar across the street, Olive or Twist, they have some great appetizers(at least last time I was there).
