Marriott's StreamSide at Vail

Looking for information about this resort.

There seems to be five different buildings but all share the same address. I assume they are probably clustered together. I wonder why the rates for Cedar and Aspen are always substantially lower than the other three? Is there really a big difference in quality?

Looks like you need to take a shuttle to the slop. Is it convenient? How frequent does it run?

Terry,

I own at Streamside and stayed there in mid-February. I'll try to give you a quick sketch of the property. It's a timeshare development, all of which aside from the Evergreen property were not built by Marriott. The Evergreen and Birch buildings are the nicest buildings. Evergreen is the newest building and was built by Marriott. Birch recently underwent an expensive renovation and has granite countertops, quality finishings, etc. The Douglas building is mid-renovation. The kitchens are done, the bathrooms are not.

Aspen and Cedar have not been rehabbed and that's why they rent for less.

The property itself has a clubhouse with an indoor/outdoor pool (half indoors, half outdoors), indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a game room, ski rental shop, gym, etc.

A shuttle runs regularly during the day to Lionshead (if you're going to ski) and at night to Vail Village.

The property is extremely convenient to the local safeway, a good thai place and some fast food joints. Walking distance, but given the traffic, I wouldn't walk myself.

Anything else I can answer, just ask.

Thanks for your detailed explanation.

Looks like Evergreen is the nicest, Birch and Douglas next, Aspen and Cedar are the worst. For 1 bedroom / 2 bath, Aspen/Cedar is showing $187, while Douglas is $272. Do you think it is worth the premium? Evergreen is sold out for my dates.

What dates are you looking for? Sometimes the rates at Vail Marriott Mountain Resort and Spa will beat Streamside. If you are looking for the next few wekes, then that will not be the case.

Terry, given the choice between those prices and buildings, I'd just go with the lower price. If it were Birch or Evergreen, I'd pay the higher price, but Douglas is still only halfway through its rehab.

Bi Level Loft/ 1 bedroom villa with a loft

Good afternoon!
I traded my Marriott week into the Douglas building at streamside. I've gotten conflicting information on my unit. Has anybody stayed in the 1 bedroom villa with a loft?
I would like to know the bed situation.
Thank you!
