EEO Question for Chris

Will my 2 for 1 EEO coupon (which expires on December 31) be valid if I check in on December 31 for the weekend?

Thanks in advance.

I'll let Chris give the official answer but here's my suggestion.

Call the hotel and let the manager know what you're planning. As long as they can get credit from Marriott for the coupon, they should be happy to let you use it. If Marriott requires the hotel to physically receive the coupon and related payment (for the other night) before January 1, 2005, simply offer to pay for your stay when you check in, rather than when you check out. The hotel gets the cert before it expires and everyone is happy.

All EEO coupons can be used on or before the expiration date. Therefore, you should be fine to use it as such.

Thanks,

Chris

I'm not going to get into an argument with Chris, but I wonder if that answer was just a little too quick. December 31 is a Friday. The EEO 2-for-1 coupon says that you get the second weekend night free. But the second weekend night is Saturday, January 1 -- after the coupon's expiration date.

Personally, I would call the hotel and check this out in advance before taking a chance with the coupon.

Yes, but the coupon also says turn it in at check in. So it would expire while in Marriott's hands which should be OK.

Not suggesting he shouldn't check with hotel, but it should be OK.
