Which hotel in Mumbai?

Which is the best Marriott property in Mumbai to stay in?

I will arrive late at around midnight and leave the following day around 2pm. During these hours I would like to see one or two of the famous sights - even if its just a drive past by taxi.

I gatehre there are at least two choices - JW Marriott or Rennaissance. Any others?
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Both the Marriott and the Ren are on the same secluded property near the airport (15 minute drive). I've stayed at the Ren twice. I would suggest you ask the hotel to pick you up at the airport, as they included the pickup and dropoff as part of my two stays. There are no sites of national interest between the airport and the Ren.

JWMarriott is by the Juhu Beach, and Ren is in Powai. I'd say JWMarriott is a better choice as long as you do not stay in the wing above the Discotheque whose loud music tends to filter into the rooms

I've no answer for you. But it sure is nice to think about going to Mumbai, instead of my usual, say St. Louis or Indianapolis. If you need some help there, let me know.

Neither the JWM nor the Ren are near any touristy sights. It will be a good 90 minute drive each way to get near anything you might want to see. I suggest you forget about that part of your plans.

The JWM is an excellent property and I would reccomend it over the Renaissance, both for location and for quality.

JW Mumbai

The JW Marriott Mumbai is by far your best bet. I stay at this property apox. 2 months a year for work, and I find the staff to be excellent. The hotel is a great escape from busy Mumbai and you can't beat the incredible pools and ocean view. The property is a hot spot with the Bollywood / India Cricket Player croud and the club ENIGMA is one of the city's top hot spots. If you want a quite room, go for the "non enigma wing" -- ask for a high floor -- and request the "pool & ocean view". Enjoy your trip to mumbai -- you can't go wrong at the JW!!!!

CORRECTION FOR THE BOARD:

THE MARRIOTT EXECUITVE APARTMENTS AND THE RENAISANCE ARE ON THE SAME PROPERTY NEAR THE AIRPORT. THE JW MARRIOTT IS LOCATED ON JUHU BEACH.

Thanks for the advice. The consensus seems to be JWM.

Ohmark, I will contact you for St Louis or Indianapolis whenever I get to venture out that way

More praise for the JW here, a wonderful hotel.

Regrettably the famous Enigma was being refurbished (or extended ?) when I was there in September but it was great to find the club/exec floor serving wine and cheese until 1am ^ .

The newly renovated Enigma just opened back up on Nov 5. As an aside, this place is packed with folks from the UK.
