Elite Coupons - One is Worthless!
I just noticed I had a coupon in my fall book for the new Renaissance Las Vegas. It says you can book at the special rate of 119.00 per night from 12/3 to 1/15. It mentions no blackout dates.
I tired to book 1/5 - 1/8 and it says I can't have the special rate but I can book a room for 399.00 per night!?!? A normal, non-club level room, for 399.00. Yes, the CES show this that week but that price is way out of line. They should list any blackout dates on the coupon if they are going to pull stuff like this...

Second, you do not even need that coupon, as it just instructs you to use code M11 which all elites can use.
Third, on the reverse side of the coupon there are restrictions that preclude you from using that code at all times.
Fourth, this subject already has been covered by someone else.
Nothing like coming late to the party and making a mountain out of a molehill.

Maybe you are more optimistic (gullible?) than me, but I would not be angry if this rate which clearly states is "subject to availability" is not available during a major convention in LAS (such as CES).

Thanks Gardner, I just could not find my coupon book to respond back then.
Marriott has in the past, CraigS, often placed coupons in the book that do not need to be surrendered. I do not know the reason why they do that -- perhaps to beef up the number of coupons being sent out?
In any event, since you contend that these coupons are worthless, are you going to distribute them to those who can use them, in this forum, or in the Coupon Connection?

Well this coupon is not worthless as it provided notification to many people of the special and as such, perhaps others had already booked the available rooms at these rates and for the dates that the OP wanted. The reduced rate of $119 is still available at this property Dec 3-13 and January 9-12 as of the time of this posting. Perhaps the OP might be intereted in doing a Sun-Wed (Jan 9-12) instead of his original Wed-Sat.

Yes the coupons are pretty worthless.
I am typing this from the Marriott in Costa Rica.
I could not use the free night or buy one get one dinner at this hotel.
I must say the property is nice........The outdoor pool is drained for maintenance though.

In this case- there are PLENTY of rooms AVAILABLE but they are not willing to honor their promotional price even though they are in the date range listed on the coupon. Normally these type of coupons tell you on the back when and where you can't use them. For some reason- not in this case.
And then the cover any kind of situation so we don't have to honor this price, "restrictions apply". They should list the restrictions on the back like they do most of the other coupons in the book!

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it referred to the Final Four tickets offer in the coupon book.

If the word rate was there, you would be correct and if it listed the dates you could not use the offer (black out dates), you would be correct also... but it says neither....

As I have said in another thread it's BULL****. They have pleanty of rooms available in LAS the time I want to go but they want to sell them for $299 and up. Which, initself is criminal for Vegas. Who the hell pays that kind of money for a room in Vegas?
Anyway, Marriott have have lost my business over this incident.
I am now booked at the Westin for $89 a night!
