Marriott Stuttgard
Just a quick word about Marriott Stuttgard. A very nice hotel and very friendly staff but miles from anywhere.
It took half an hour by taxi from Stuttgard railway station and was fifteen minutes from the airport. Seems to be located near office blocks and an industrial area.
I booked a night through Marriott central reservation and was told that it was about 2 miles from city centre.

As you already mentioned, not convenient for Stuttgart city centre (possible: subway from Stuttgart main station to Stuttgart-Vaihingen and from there by bus (bus stops on the other side from The Marriott) - but very timeconsuming).
