Ok, theres a Marriott about 5min from me which I goto almost every week, sometimes a few times a week, for dinner. The restaurant inside the Marriott... would that make me eligible for the points? Or does that not count? I've read that incidentals do count if the charges are charged to the room, but havent seen anything regarding the actual restaurants.
Its the Marriott Resort in St Kitts.

However, you could give us a report on the St. Kitts Marriott and its restaurant!

So I guess I have to check in, have a bunch of friends eat at the restaurant, get them to pay me, charge it to the room, and get the points
As for the restaurant, well so far I've only eaten at the Calypso Hut, but theres a few more restaurants there which I have yet to try. Service at the Calypso is ok at times, but other times is horrible (like one time we had to return the whole order because the meat was cold and had to ask 3 people for some Mayonnaise). Also the Marriott Burger is great, along with the Jerk Chicken Quaisedeya (sp). Although sometimes its thick, sometimes it isnt.
I'll check out the other restaurants and try to do a little write up. Now if only somebody could comp me to Gold or Plat *cough*Conceirge*cough*
The restaurants will be getting a lot more money from me than the hotel itself though simply because I'm a 5min drive from there.

Thanks Gagan!
I empathize with your plight about not having status ... but not that much!!!
After all, you obviously have found a way to stay for a long period of time on St. Kitts without having the necessity of staying at the Marriott!
A vacation home perhaps??
Welcome to the board!!

Ahhh vacation, I wish
Actually I'm going to med school in St Kitts, so the only Marriott time would be studying, casino, and food (which the burgers went from $7.95 in Jan to $9.95 in Feb, not impressive one bit). The only vacations from here would be either back home to Toronto or Austin, or maybe the occassional weekend in St Maarten or something. Debating finding time to hit the Dominican.
Maybe I'll goto the Marriott on Wednesday to ummm survey their buffett

Restaurant Points
At one point, the Long Island Marriott and Conference Center would offer 500 points each and every time that you dined at their restaurant.
If you were a hotel guest, you would earn the 500 points plus the 10xthe total bill that was charged to your hotel bill.
IMHO a great deal and I wish that Marriott would role that out throughout their system.

Now something like that would be GREAT. I could get an easy 4,000-8,000 points in the next few months. Or with the bill being 10x... even more
Too bad Marriott is the only hotel with a points program on this island (only actual name brand hotel for that matter). Theres the 4 Seasons over on Nevis which I will also do a write up about if anybody wants to pay 50-100% of the cost? ^
