Suite Upgrades for PlatPrem
I've done a couple of trips outside of my ususal DFW Marriott North stays. One was in La Jolla, CA. I got the Presidential Suite. A couple of weeks later, my family and I went to Disneyland and stayed at the Anaheim Marriott. We were on a points stay and got upgraded to a Bi-Level suite. Any other PlatPrems getting this kind of treatment? At the DFW Marriott North, I get the room with the Balcony everytime (they asked me what kind of room I wanted for the duration of my stay which apparently is going to be thru the end of this year

Welcome to Flyertalk tpasol. A thread that has several posts dealing with your post is here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=311924
If you do a search on the Marriott board (or Starwood or Hilton, if you want to compare) for platinum upgrade or suite upgrade, or some variation, you will turn up a large number of threads dealing with the issue; which, in my opinion, is one of the most frequently posted thread topics on the Marriott board.

Message was about PlatPrem
Ohmark, I think your message may have not been responsive. The OP was talking about the new Platinum Premier (by memory, invitation only). The earlier posts were about regular Plat and Gold.
To respond to the OP, those were the type of upgrades I used to get when I was one of the first Black card holders (Black was originally the highest level). I remember the John Wayne bi-level suite at the Anaheim Marriott. Even the room service person had never seen it before.
