JW Marriott MCO - Reservation Modification
Six months ago, I booked a week at this property for this April.
I now need to delay my arrival date by a single day.
When I go on the Marriott web site to modify my reservation, it allows it, however it also changes the daily rate for the remainder of my nights...more than double in fact...$200 to $400 per night.
I have only tried to modify my reservation on line, I have not called Marriott or the property directly.
It would be cheaper to not show up the first day and absorb the cost of that night, however they would cancel my entire reservation as a no show.
If I have a confirmed rate for those original dates, shouldn't they be able to cancel the first night, but honor the original rate for the remainder of the nights?

For years forever, every hotel chain has in the reservation confirmation, adjusting the dates of your stay can impact the rates. It's no surprise. Nothing new. Call the property directly. See if they'll work w/ you/honor the original rate.
Cheers.

Thanks Sharon,
I knew that....I just didn't want to admit it to myself :-)
I just called the property directly, but when I asked about modifying my reservation, they just transferred me to a Marriott call center somewhere.

Which property?
And you might want to call during M-F to the property during 9-5 & see if you get someone who can help when they might have more staff on duty.
Cheers.

When I saw the topic name, "JW Marriott MCO - Reservation Modification," my first reaction was that there is not a JW Marriott at Orland International Airport (MCO).
I assume this topic is either about the Orlando Airport Marriott Lakeside (although there are Marriott-affiliated properties at MCO) or about the JW Marriott Grande Lakes.
