Falling short in requalifying for platinum
Would like to know past practice, did Marriott tend to give a soft landing to gold _or a soft landing from gold to silver?
I know that one can buy back ones status. So asking in cases
That one chooses not to do so.
Thank you

Marriott usually gives soft landing & sometimes will keep the prior status, based on past stay experience. Marriott status expires end of February. You can log into your account & see if they kept you at current level or did the soft drop.
Cheers.

I was mid 50s last year and I think low 60s the previous year and have been left at Platinum. A pleasant surprise considering 30+ of those nights were credit card(x2) related last year.
Maybe my 750+ nights helps?? Still scrounging to get to 2m though. Damn cheap govt rates.
