Converting to and from MR points

Converting to and from MR points
Hi everyone - hoping someone can help me with a few short questions (due to some circumstances beyond my control, I have to quickly re-jig a few points).
1) I know you can convert Marriott reward points to aeroplan, but is the opposite true? Can you convert aeroplan to Marriott?
2) Can Amex's Membership rewards be converted to Marriott?
3) Does anyone know when doing the above, if they are very picky it be YOUR account? (i.e. could I convert my wife's aeroplan points to my marriott reward account and vice versa?).

I have converted from MR to Aeroplan but always wait until bonus time. There is a 20% bonus happening right now so now is a good time to do it. You can convert to your own account or you can convert to someone else's account. When you do it online they will just ask for the number of the account you want to convert your MR points into..... that being the Aeroplan account that you wish. I have never converted the other way nor am I sure you can do that.

Is there a reason why you want to convert Amex to Marriott?
