Lifetime Platinum - downgrade?
Just received my new card for 2016. it says Platinum Elite Lifetime. I have been Platinum Premier for the past 5 years and qualified Lifetime Platinum 2 years ago but have always gotten the Platinum Premier card. My account status still shows Platinum Premier, but I have been told downgrades will happen the end of February. Am curious though, have I just been downgraded? Not happy about this if true.

The same thing happened to me. The only thing I will say is that I had my United status renewed last week at the gold level by Marriott so hopefully I am keeping my PP status.

This thread got me thinking. What exactly are the levels once Plat is reached?
Platinum
Platinum Premier?
Platinum Premir Elite?
Lifetime Plat?
I just got my new package and I'm Platinum Premier Elite again for this year and have been Lifetime Plat for quite a few years now.
From what I can tell, the P.P.E. doesnt really get you much and infact I just had to call to be added to the last Promo as I didnt get auto enrolled as usual. (2nd or 3rd time I've had to do this)
What are your thoughts and what is the highest level you can obtain at Marriott?

If you have to ask, you're not eligible for it.
Several reports of a level available only by Marriott C-level invite. Offered to Marriott family, Marriott board, executives who are friends of Bill or Arne. In other words, not us.

Platinum Elite is the proper name of the tier. It's often referred to as Platinum as shorthand.
Lifetime Platinum is not a tier. It's a qualification that allows you to maintain Platinum Elite status every year without meeting the qualifications.
Platinum Premiere Elite is a different tier, though it's unpublished so I'm taking the name from those who have posted with that reference.
Silver Elite and Gold Elite complete the set of four Elite levels.

I would agree that you are back to being LTP.
This happened to me two years ago. I was PP and then "downgraded" back to LTP.
Now I am back up at PP. Go figure.
Really no discernible difference between P and PP.
