I'm happy to report that my account still says PP and I got my new UA Gold card today, good through January 31, 2017.
No signs of my new Marriott card or the PP gift yet. Correction: It said PP earlier today, but I just checked and it now shows P. And the world has not ended. |

Mine still says PP, but I got the LTP card, so it's obviously going to P tonight.

+1. I am back to Lifetime Platinum as of this evening. Ironically I got greeted as platinum premiere tonight when I checked in at a CY. Guess the hotel PMS hadn't been updated yet.
--Jon P.S. We will see if it makes any difference LTP vs. PP. I suspect it won't. |
So its 9;44 PM EDT on 2/29. Just looked and I still say Platinum Premier. Does that mean i made the cut for another year? I havent received squat in the mail yet.
Just wondering. |

I have today been downgraded from Platinum Premier to Platinum after 10 consecutive years as PP. I am already Lifetime Platinum, but with 10,000,000 lifetime points and over 2500 lifetime nights and 100 or so nights last year, I feel seriously disappointed with Marriott.
Anyway, your lifetime totals are seriously impressive. I agree that Marriott should come up with some way of rewarding that kind of long-term loyalty above and beyond lifetime platinum (which has now become so easy to get that it's almost laughable). |

I don't think they've HAD platinum premier for 10 years, have they? My first card is from 2009, and I thought that was the second year of the program...

Probably the ONLY thing I like better about the HHonors program over Marriott Rewards is that my wife and I were able to sign up for a "mutual fund" account 20 or so years ago whereby both our names are on the account and either one of us can stay, earning joint elite credit and points. I know HHonors no longer offers this option, but they have protected the grandfathered status to this day...
She found that she got treated much better at Marriott and her reservations could be in her name. Since she pays through her business for a lot of our stays, we book in her name. She has been Platinum for a number of years and in 2 years should be lifetime Platinum so we rarely stay at Hilton anymore. Actually at a Doubletree right now for a basketball tournament and will be at the Hilton Ft. Worth next month for a NCAA tournament. Those might be our only Hilton stays for the year. |

It's been 12 years and 3 months. First mention on this board was December, 2003 and I'm assuming we were on it nearly instantly.

Both names are on the account, but unless they have changed in recent years, online reservations could only be made in my name. When they were building a lot of new Hamptons my wife did some stays on her own. I would have to make the reservaton, then call and change to her name. After she stayed, I would have to call to get credit.

My experience has been roughly the same, at least in the start of the process. Every online reservation is indeed in my name. But we also get two HHonors cards every year, with the same account number but in each of our names. She checks in, and only rarely do they point out that the reservation is in my name and not hers. On those rare occasions she shows the HHonors card with the same account number but her name, and they go on checking her in. We've never had an issue with stays or points crediting.

I always wondered if the front desk folks can see your history or just your current status. I think they can see your available MR points. Maybe someone can chip in.
At Hilton they can see some of this. I have had front desk people marvel at my 7-figure HH balance. Sadly, that is not as impressive as they think. |
