I did not get a confirmation e-mail...
...for a reservation I made last night. It shows up fine under My Reservations. I thought it just might be slow coming, but I just made a different reservation today and it showed up right away in my e-mail.
I don't really need one but just thought it was odd. And it's not in Spam. As long as it's in My Res I'm ok, right?

As long as you have a valid 6 character PNR, you are OK.

I have an 8-digit Marriott confirmation number, but I know what you meant.

I am so sorry, I have Southest on the brain today dealing with their computer meltdown, I forgot what forum is was in!

Ironically and coincidentally, I haven't gotten an automatic Marriott email confirmation in about 2 years now, to 2 different email addresses. If I go back in a resend it to myself, it works just fine. I looked at all my preferences and asked Marriott for help a few times but only got a long list of emails to add to my address book for spam. But I don't have spam blocking anywhere...
I just gave up and copy & paste the reservation info when I make and add to calendar.

That's ok, I often forget where I am, too (and not just here
)
I thought my case was weird since I did get the confirm from the res made today, but not yesterday.

Not getting a confirmation email is nothing new for me - for years if I booked a UK hotel I didn't get one, but did when I booked a US one. Now I do get emails for all bookings regardless of where in the world it is.

Getting a confirmation e-mail can be important if you're booking through one of the rebate sites (Ebates, Fat Wallet, etc.) since if the rebate doesn't post, the site usually requires you to send them a copy of the confirmation.
Sometimes the confirmation goes into the SPAM/junk folder, but you said you checked and it wasn't there. In such case, I'd suggest calling Marriott and asking them to specifically send you a confirmation (which sometimes looks different from the reservation copy you get if you send it to yourself from the site).
