No MR points for ABA rate?
I stayed recently at the RC Sarasota on the ABA rate. I followed up as to why my stay wasn't reported to MR and why I didn't get points. Was told the ABA rate doesn't qualify for points. I've stayed at RCs before, on the ABA rate, and have had no issues. I read the T&C and don't see any exclusions. I searched this forum also, and can't find anything. Should I just report it to MR as a missing stay? Any help would be appreciated.

Leeky, yes, the American Bar Association rate. I paid it myself. Was not part of convention, was booked through Marriott website, with all of my MR info. My reservation, before my stay, showed my MR number. Showed my card at checkin. My bill didn't show my MR number... woman at front dest at checkout said she would get it recorded. In later communications with RCS was told it was a "special rate" and I should have been told that at checkin. I find that strange since the ABA shows specials for the RCs, including double points, etc.

IMO, by what you've stated and assuming that you made the reservation on Marriott.com logged in so it records your MR#and per Marriott T&Cs cited below you qualify for both points and stay credits (but what do I know as I've only carried the designation Esq since 1985).
7.Point or elite night credit accrual is limited to individual travel and the room must be paid for individually by the Member or direct billed to the party responsible for paying the bill. If the room is master-billed, the charges are not eligible for Points or elite night credits.
If the Member attends a convention or group meeting and individually pays the hotel directly for the room, he/she will be eligible to receive Points and elite night credits for the stay. However, contract rooms, rooms reserved by corporations on an ongoing basis and master-billed rooms are not eligible to earn points or elite night credit. Military rates at certain overseas locations are subject to local restrictions and may be ineligible for points or elite night credit.

Who told you the rate did not qualify? Not that it will make much difference as both property and MR agents (like just about everywhere else) will make up an excuse to support the error not wanting to do the work to fix it. Submit the stay as missing and push the issue if denied. If a rate has any special conditions such as no credit, it must be stated clearly in the rate details and not someone's recollection after the fact.
