Advice on Finding the Difficult to Find Naples FL CY
Couldn't find a thread for this hotel. If anyone is planning to stay at the Naples CY, hopefully he/she will see this...
There are several GPS challenges that make finding this hotel a little difficult...
FWIW, this is an average, older but updated. CY; nothing special, nothing bad. The lobby is a little cramped. The room was quiet and comfortable.

- There is an older hotel on the same street called "The Courtyard Inn" which my GPS originally picked up.
- The hotel uses the address 3250 US 41 N on its website. Many GPS do not recognize this address, and instead, use 3250 Tamiami Trail. It's the same hotel.
- When traveling from the airport, many GPS will have you use Exit 105 and turn left of 26th Street. The problem is there is a giant "No Left Turn" sign. Use Exit 107, which you hit first. Once you exit, the GPS will correct itself.

For what it's worth, I have this novel idea of finding hotel locations in new destinations - I actually call the hotel and ask for directions and for them to mention diversions as GPS isn't very good when streets are closed or under construction so to avoid these problems I ask the locals for the easiest exit off of interstate/state road ___ and at the light go straight/left/right and then ...... (just did this in Cologne as new onhoing construction around the Dom would have really screwed me up but calling in advance the hotel told me how to get around these inconveniences and the hotel was found w/o any difficulty)

This might be good info to give to the property. I've seen some property pages that give the actual GPS coordinates in their directions section. Really helps for older systems that might not have the new address. But then also a good chance it doesn't have the street(s) either if a new development.
My onboard Nav system has data as of 2007 so not up to date at all. I still use it to get a quick glimpse of where I am at (sound muted) and I use Waze to get current info and traffic updates! Granted geographically limited at times, but works fine for car trips.

FWIW, Google Maps found "Courtyard by Marriott Naples FL" right away, and uses the "3250 US 41 North" address.

I just posted this in case anyone might be staying at the hotel in the future and did a search here beforehand. Apparently it isn't an issue with all GPS, but is with some. I'm not sure why trying to be helpful has triggered these responses.

You might want to have the thread title edited to indicate that this is Naples, Florida, not Italy. I started reading because I didn't know that there was a Courtyard by Marriott in Naples, Italy.

Of course everyone who has joined the 21st century is using GPS. It's free, convenient and usually reliable. My comment was directed towards being berated for not doing the old time thing of calling (from a pay phone at the airport?), bothering the hotel clerk, writing down directions on a scrap of paper and trying to read them while driving (at night, no less).

I stayed there 3 years ago after their renovation. Had a nice suite at the end of the hall facing Tamiami. It had a nice little patio and overall was a pleasant, quiet stay, considering the room was near Tamiami.
