Burbank advice?

Need one room on June 4 to attend my nephew's elementary school graduation. Prices are high. I booked a while ago, so I have the choice of either:
  • A double double at the Marriott Burbank Airport for $208.05 + $21 parking + tax, or
  • A double queen at the Courtyard Burbank Airport for $152. + tax
Prices have increased 20-30% since I booked. I've been watching for LNF opportunities, but no luck. It's becoming clear that I will be spending more than I would like to, and that the FS property will cost me over $80 more than the Courtyard. Of course at the FS property I will have lounge access, free soda, breakfast, etc.

I would appreciate answers to the following:
  • Is the FS property substantially nicer than the Courtyard? Enough to justify the price difference?
  • Am I likely to get an upgrade at the FS location?
  • How is the Courtyard?
  • Have you seen any good rates that could trigger a LNF claim?
Thanks!

I stayed T the marriott Burbank airport 2 weeks ago on a Saturday. I requested an upgrade via the virtual concierge and I got put into a very nice 1 bedroom suite. Great location, great service and dent concierge lounge which was open on the weekend!

Although this was not one of the choices you mentioned, and you likely avoid these like the plague because of the points issue, we stayed at the Burbank RI for five nights last year (on points) and found it to be awesome. The rooms were nice, the staff great, the breakfast a step up from the usual RI, the pool was nice and parking was easy and covered. We got an UG to a one bedroom suite. The hotel is walking distance from downtown Burbank, which was unexpectedly kinda cool.

Not sure how you feel about non-Marriott properties, but the Holiday Inn is actually not that bad, and also easy walking distance from downtown Burbank. Relatives I trust have stayed there a few times and been happy.

Given your choice... No CL is worth $75+/night. Stop at a supermarket and buy some soda and breakfast stuff and you still come out over $50 ahead!

It's one night. Go with CY and put the $75 towards taking the kid and family to lunch.

Not to mention sleeping in a bigger bed. Mostly wanted to be sure I would not be missing something really nice at the FS location.

We've stayed at the RI Burbank (maybe a couple of years ago?) and agree that it's definitely a nicer, newer RI that I wouldn't hesitate to go back to. Lots of stuff fairly close to the hotel.

I stayed at the Marriott Burbank Airport 3 nights a week for a little over a year. As a platinum member I always got upgraded to a 1 room suite (I never get an upgrade at any other hotel). The concierge lounge is good as well. If I remember correctly Tony is there in the mornings and he is great.
