how to pay Marriott online instead of POS machine

how to pay Marriott online instead of POS machine

when i book online, there are two way to pay the hotel
1. non-refundable
usually pay directly on the internet

2. refundable
usually not pay on the internet
check in staff will ask for my card and let me pay by POS machine

my question is, how to pay online rather than on the pos machine because i can get more points if i pay hotel on the internet
thank you a lot

Haven't seen any way to pay a hotel bill online (other than pre-paid, and that's probably not a true online payment). What might work is to buy MR Travel Cards online and then use those to pay for the room.

I'd like to know more about how on-line payment generates more points. What are the details about how that works?

I don't know the plan the OP is on, but I have an debit card account where I get benefits if I do 12 credit transactions a month. I'm only guessing they've got something similar where doing online transactions "buy" them something. I know most CC processors indicate when a card is swiped or manually entered. I get emails from my bank specifically stating an online purchase has been processed, so there is visibility.
