Missing Stay Request, or...?
Quick question about a missing stay request:
For a recent TownePlace Suites stay I wasn't able to reserve the room under my rewards account because my spouse's employer made the reservation through their travel agent. When I attempted to add the Marriott Rewards number at the front desk, they said they couldn't do it as they were having trouble with their system (or their system couldn't do it - or maybe the clerk didn't know how to do it - I don't know, they just told me to contact Marriott Rewards after I got home).
Also, his name was on the reservation and not mine, is that a problem? (I see that the missing stay does allow you to change the first name on the reservation, from the name on your rewards account).
I believe the travel agent made the reservation directly with the hotel and not through a 3rd party, so I don't think that will be an issue - but I am not sure a missing stay request handle this situation best, considering the reservation wasn't made with my rewards number. Is this the right way to get the points, or is there another way that's better?
